Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls (モンスター娘のいる日常, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou) Chapter 20 is the twentieth chapter of the Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls manga series.

Written and drawn by mangaka Okayado (Inui Takemaru), this chapter was released in Japan on December 19th, 2013, by the Japanese publishing company Tokuma Shoten within the seinen manga and anime magazine, Monthly Comic Ryū.

The chapter was later gathered as part of the series' tankōbon volume Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Volume 5.

Plot[]

The chapter begins with a flashback in which Papi takes a little Dryad girl to a forest and plants her in the earth with her root-like legs. She assures the Dryad, who she called Kii, that there is enough water and earth in this place and that there aren't a lot of people around, so that Kii can live undisturbed in this place. Afterwards, Papi flies away, but assures Kii that she will visit her again soon. Kii just looks sadly after Papi and murmurs the name of the Harpy softly.

In the present, Kimihito, who visits the same forest with Papi and Suu, prepares for a barbeque in a clearing with a grill. After the fire is ready, he asks Papi and Suu if they can bring him the food for the barbeque, although he scolds them briefly when they eat part of the food raw instead. Kimihito says to himself that they actually only came to the mountains because Papi wanted this, but that on the other hand such a barbeque in the forest is also a pleasant thing. Or at least it would be if, as Kimihito angrily notes, illegally dumped garbage piled up in a huge pile were not lying everywhere in the forest, despite explicit prohibition signs.

While Kimihito prepares the food, he asks Papi why she wanted to go on a trip to the forest. However, Papi, as usual, forgot that she wanted to do that due to her birdbrain and when she tries to remember, her head starts to smoke again, so Kimihito reassuringly says that she shouldn't overdo it. But Papi is not reassured and mumbles to herself that she has the feeling that she has forgotten something really important.

Kimihito is surprised by this, but before he can ask any more, he is interrupted by Zombina, who suddenly stands at the grill and is enthusiastic about the meat. Slightly annoyed, Kimihito asks her if she should stay in hiding in case the "D" might appear, although Zombina replies that she hates sneaking around. She warns Kimihito that there is also industrial waste among the illegally dumped garbage and jokingly says that he might catch a strange new disease and turn into a Zombie. Kimihito, however, doesn't think that's funny. Zombina adds with a laugh that one of these substances could also make Kimihito grow until he has turned into a giant.

However, Zombina's laughter is interrupted by a tremendous noise and suddenly a kaiju-like humanoid wooden monster, larger than the tallest trees, emerges from the forest. For a moment, Kimihito and Zombina are frozen in terror before the monster takes a step towards them, crushing Zombie under its huge foot. When the monster tries to grab Kimihito with his hand, his shock dissolves and he runs away in panic with Papi and Suu under his arms. Shocked, Kimihito wonders what kind of monster it is, and whether it could really be a living being that has mutated into a giant due to the industrial waste.

When he takes a closer look at the monster, he realizes that it looks like some kind of tree and wonders if it could be a Liminal. When Daddy hears the word "tree", she up her ears and looks at the monster as well. She hears a voice inside the giant calling her name, whereupon Daddy is shocked and remembers what she has forgotten. However, before she can tell Kimihito her suspicions, a lot of tendrils shoot out of the monster's "body", wrap around Papi and tear her out of Kimihito's arm up to the "head" of the tree monster. Kimihito is horrified by this, but the next moment he himself is tied up by vines, stumbles and drops Suu in the process.

Slightly dazed, Suu slowly stands up, only to watch helplessly as Kimihito is tied up by the vines. He calls out to her to flee and tell Mis Smith about the tree monster before he is pulled up just like Papi. For a moment, Suu is frozen in horror, but then the tree monster tries to step on her. When Suu jumps to the side, she stumbles over the edge of a cliff, falls down a mountain and ends up in the middle of an illegal dumped garbage container filled with an experimental super-strong fertilizer.

Meanwhile, Kimihito and Papi are carried from the vines all the way up to the cone-shaped "head" of the tree monster. When they reach the top, a voice can be heard from the cone that calls humans "enemies" and the "one that hurts her". The "head" opens to reveal a young Liminal woman with leaves for hair. The woman reveals that she is a Dryad and that she is a protector of the forest who hates humans deeply. When Kimihito hears this, he is confused, because in the Liminal manual that Ms Smith gave him, there was nothing about dryads can growing to such a giant size. The next moment, however, the vines around Kimihito wrap up painfully tightly and threaten to crush him, whereupon Papi begs the Dryad, whom she calls "Kii", not to hurt Kimihito.

Surprisingly, the tendrils around Kimihito's body loosen, whereby he asks Papi if she knows the Dryad. Papi then explains that she and Kii became friends before she met him. On one of her sightseeing flights, she watched Ms Smith and the M.O.N arrest some Liminal smugglers who had kidnapped Liminal children. In this operation, however, Ms Smith and the MON team overlooked Kii, who had been trapped under the overturned smuggler's car during the chase. Papi found the Dryad and gave her the name "Kii", because this is the Japanese word for "tree". Kii was very weak at the time, so Daddy took her to the forest, where she had enough water and earth.

Uncertainly, Kimihito asks Papi why Kii is so big now, but Papi replies that she has no idea, because she immediately forgot everything about Kii after she took her to the forest because of her birdbrain, which Kimihito doesn't find funny at all. Papi tells Kii that Kimihito is not a bad person and that she should let him go. However, Kii replies in a rage about her abduction by humans that Papi is her friend but that humans are not, and starts to choke Kimihito again with her vines, much to Papi's horror. Dismayed, Kimihito wonders if Kii has gone mad before he suddenly thinks that she may have been the author of the threatening letter addressed to him, when he realizes that "Dryad" starts with the letter "D".

However, Papi then frees himself from Kii's vines and tries to fly to the Dryad, but is pushed back by her. Kimihito, fearing that Papi might be hurt, shouts to the Harpy that she should stop. In tears, Papi tells him that maybe it's all her fault and that Kii might be angry because Papi forgot about her. For this reason, Papi now tries to stop Kii. Kimihito can understand this, but in the next moment Kii gives Papi a heavy blow, whereupon the Harpy is thrown away, but lands with her back on something surprisingly soft.

Out of the forest rises a figure that turns out to be Suu, but strangely enough, just like Kii, she has also grown to a giant size after falling into the fertilizer. The soft thing Papi has landed on are Suu's breasts. For a moment, Kimihito is completely perplexed that Suu is now also a giantess, before the Slime girl grabs him with her hand and tears him out of Kii's vines. She sets him down on her other breast next to Papi and reveals to the two that she suspects that Kii has become so huge because she absorbed the illegally dumped chemical waste. Accordingly, Kii could return to her previous state if they could suck these nutrients out of her. Kimihito is surprised by this suddenly such profound thoughts and wonders if Suu has not only become bigger, but also more intelligent.

Suu and Kii now begin to fight each other in their giant forms. Kimihito and Papi, who are still holding on to Suu's breasts, are thrown around by Suu's evasive maneuvers. Kimihito can hold on reasonably well and asks the legitimate question regarding Suu's idea how they are supposed to "suck out" the toxic nutrients from Kii. Papi, on the other hand, has trouble holding on to Suu's chest while she gets sick from all the wiggling. Finally, Kii leaps forward to grab Suu with her tree hands, an attack that Suu is able to block with her own hands. However, the attack is so violent that Suu's breasts bob up a lot. Kimihito manages to hold on, but Papi loses her grip and is thrown through the air right at Kii, where she crashes into the Dryad's chest.

When Papi comes to, she realizes that she has landed face first in Kii's breasts. While Kii seems to be a bit embarrassed by this, Papi remembers Suu's idea of "sucking out" the toxins from Kii's body while looking at Kii's breasts. So now she starts to suck on Kii's breasts, which shocks the Dryad at first, but then gives unintended orgasmic pleasure. While Kimihito find Papi's method quite weird, it strangely seems to actually work, as the muscles on Kii's giant wooden arms seem to be slowly weakening.
