Kimihito's homestay girls are a group of seven Liminal girls belonging to different species living together as roommates in the Kurusu house as part of the Extraspecies Exchange Program. Together with Kimihito, they are the main protagonists of the series, and all of them ended up choosing Kimihito as their love interest, thanks to the way he cares for them. Each of these girls came to Kimihito through unique circumstances, with some of them being selected to be his homestay while others had nowhere else to go due to issues with their previous host families.
They consist of a Lamia, a Harpy, a Centauride, a Slime girl, a Mermaid, a Arachne and a Dullahan named Miia, Papi, Centorea, Suu, Meroune, Rachnera and Lala respectively.
Trivia[]
- Partly it can be said that Kimihito had the responsibility for his homestay girls thrust upon him by Ms Smith, which gave her the perfect excuse not to take responsibility for them herself, even though this is her job as Interspecies Exchange Coordinator.
- Papi is the only one of Kimihito's homestay girls whose father has physically appeared in the series, although Miia, Centorea, and Mero's fathers have been mentioned or shown in flashbacks.
- Suu is the only one of Kimihito's homestay girls whose accommodation does not require the consultation of a coordinator, as humanoid Slimes are not yet recognized as Liminal species by the Extraspecies Exchange Bill.
- Miia, Centorea and Mero are confirmed to be virgins and in the case of Suu and Papi it is heavily implied as both of them have never really had contact with a man before Kimihito.
- Rachnera and Lala are the only homestay girls with Kimihito whose mothers have not yet appeared in the manga series.
- Similar to pretty much every other character in the manga series, the exact ages of Kimihito's homestay girls has never been hinted at or confirmed, aside from Ms Smith vague statement that Papi is the same age as Miia. Given that they are all young adults, it can be assumed that they are all more or less in the same age as Kimihito (who is confirmed to be in his twenties), but even that cannot necessarily be said with certainly, as some Liminals can biological age differently than humans, which is why their appearance doesn't necessarily indicate their ages.
- To avoid critism, it would probably make sense for Okayado to have in mind that the seven girls are about the same age as Kimihito, although he probably just saw no reason to confirm their exact ages.
- Judging from Rachnera's more mature personality and demeanor, as well as her great knowledge, she may be the oldest of Kimihito's homestay girls. This is also hinted at in her interaction with the Arachne leader, who sent her to Japan with an important mission that would only be placed in the hands of a truly experienced person.
- Judging by Suu's acting in Chapter 8, she had never had any experience with life in the human world before she met Kimihito. This, combined with the fact that she was created by an Undine and Slimes may not age biologically, suggests that she maybe the youngest of Kimihito's homestay girls chronologically, and perhaps only a few years old.
- Mero is the only one of Kimihito's homestay girls where it is confirmed that both her mother and her father (the Mermaid king) are Liminals. The fathers of Miia, Papi, Rachnera and Centorea are humans (in the case of the first three because their species are female only and in the case of Centorea because her mother chose a human as her partner). In the case of Suu's unusual "birth" (a Slime created by an Undine), it is unknown if she even has a "father", although it is possible that both of Lala's parents are Dullahan.
- Miia (in Chapter 12) and Centorea (in Chapter 45) are the only homestay girls of Kimihito who were shown in flashbacks as children.
- Of all of Kimihito's homestay girls, Lala is the one whose past is the least known.
- According to Ms Smith in Monster Musume: Monster Girls on the Job!, Kimihito's household is the only one that consists of so many homestay girls of such different Liminal species. Ironically, Ms Smith herself is actually responsible for this, after she having more or less dumped most of the girls on Kimihito, so that she would no longer have to bear responsibility for them.
