Manga Chapter 75

Kiruraru is a Centauride who, like many other people, was drawn into the world of Arbatel by the magic of the Grimoire and was a member of the interspecies track team and a student at the Grimoire High School for a time. She makes their debut in Chapter 75.

Appearance[]

Kiruraru is a light-skinned Centauride with slightly darker hair that is pulled into a short ponytail at the back of her head. As is typical for a female Centaur, she has rather large breasts, but her most noticeable feature in her appearance is her headless horse lower body, and her long and pointed horse ears.

During her stay in the Grimoire world, Kiruraru wore the usual school uniform consisting of a seifuku with a plaid skirt. The skirt, however, was much longer and larger than most other students, since it was made specifically for a Centaur's lower body. Also, in her description in Chapter 79, Kiruraru wore a sleeveless athletic shirt.

Personality[]

Like many other Centaurs, Kiruraru has a somewhat formal, old-fashioned way of speaking, such as when she refers to her host as "senpai". Like Centorea, she is also overprotective of her master, as she insisted that he ride on her back, even though his injury was only a twisted ankle and he assured her that he was fine. While Kiruraru is a very kind person, she can sometimes also be blunt with her words, such as when she said that "humans have the worst hearing", when her master couldn't hear what she said to him due to her hoofbeat.

As revealed from Kiruraru's description in Chapter 79, thanks to her experiences on the interspecies track team, she later wishes to become a sports instructor to help athletes avoid injuries. This shows that Kiruraru has a keen interest in sport and a great need to help others.

Skills and Traits[]

Physical Traits[]

  • Centaur Physiology:
    • Centaur Ears: Centaur's ears are capable of reflecting the centaur's mood as they are able to move much in the same way as a horse's ears.
    • Large Breasts: Female Centaurs have large breasts for feeding their young, which are larger than human babies and require more nutrition.
    • Superhuman Strength: As a Centaur, Kiruraru is physically much stronger than a human.
    • Taste Buds: As herbivores, centaurs generally have twice as many taste buds as omnivores (e.g humans), while omnivores have over twenty times as many taste buds as carnivores (e.g Lamia).
    • Body temperatures: Centaurs have a standard body temperatures of 38 degrees.
    • Sense of smell: As Centorea reveals in Chapter 71, because of her equine biology, Centaurs have a sense of smell that is 1000 times greater than that of a human.

History[]

Kiruraru was one of the numerous people whose consciousness was absorbed into the magical world of the Grimoire High School by Arbatel, although the exact circumstances of how this happened are unknown. Like everyone else, Kiruraru was brainwashed by the enchanted school uniforms and really believed that she was a student at Grimoire High School. Kiruraru joined the school's interspecies track team and through this experience, she decided to later become a sports instructor as a future plan to help athletes avoid injuries.

During her stay at the school, Kiruraru developed a relationship with a male human student, to the point of accepting him as her self-chosen "master", including allowing him, per Centaur tradition, the permission to ride on her back.

Plot[]

Kiruraru with her "master".

Kiruraru makes her debut in chapter 75, where after school is over, she runs through the small park to the student dorms with her master on her back. Her master tries to reassure her that he can walk just fine, but Kiruraru insists on carrying him as he recently twisted his ankle. The boy tries to tell her that he's a little embarrassed riding on a Centaur's back, but Kiruraru doesn't understand what he means and asks him if he's talking about the Centaur's vow, which says that they only allow their true "life partners" to ride on their backs.

Embarrassed, the boy says that these days only the old-fashioned country Centaurs would say stuff like that. Now a little embarrassed on her part, Kiruraru says that she guesses it's okay since he is her master. However, the boy couldn't hear what Kiruraru said to him because of her loud hoofbeats and when he tells her that, Kiruraru turns to him and says, slightly annoyed, that humans have "the worst hearing". Before the two can continue their conservation, however, they are suddenly interrupted by Papi, who falls from the sky after falling asleep mid-flight from exhaustion.

Kiruraru pulls Papi out of the lake.

While her master is holding his head in pain, Kiruraru runs to Papi in a fright and pulls the Harpy out of the pond, into which she fell headfirst, by her legs. After Papi regains consciousness, she is dismayed to find her clothes soaked by the water. In no time at all (and to Kiruraru's shock) Papi rips her clothes off and flies away, wearing only her underwear. Kiruraru calls after her, but Papi doesn't hear her anymore.

It is believed that Kiruraru was safely sent back to the normal world after Arbatel released everyone's absorbed consciousness in Chapter 80. It's also possible that Kiruraru was among those who sent a petition to Arbatel, since she found her master thanks to the Grimoire.

Zoological Classification[]

Main article: Centaur
Centaur8

The Centaurs are a demi-human Liminal race with the upper body a human and the lower body of a horse. Herbivores, centaurs are normally found in grasslands and savannas, and are a race of nomads who become brave warriors in time of conflicts.

Their civilization is ancient, by far one of the oldest of all the humanoid races known to mankind. Extremely proud and strong-willed, they differ from the other races in that they consciously suppress their urges during mating season.

Trivia[]

  • Although Kiruraru is a standard Centaur, her keen interest in sports is more a trait that fits the stereotypical image of a Lightweight Centaur.
  • Kiruraru is currently the only Centaur character in the manga series (excluding in-game characters) whose last name has not been revealed.
