Manga | Chapter 74 |
Kuuki is a female Oni who, like many other people, was drawn into the world of Arbatel by the magic of the Grimoire and was a student at the Grimoire Public High School for a time. She makes her debut in Chapter 74.
Appearance[]
Kuuki is a young woman with light-coloured hair that is styled in traditional hime-style bangs (modified for her horns) and is braided into two long ponytails at the back. She wears a ying-yang pendant around her neck. As an Oni, Kuuki is taller than a human and has two small horns on her forehead. Her skin colour is lighter than Kinu's, but it is unclear if Kuuki is a red Oni or a blue Oni.
During her stay in the Grimoire, Kuuki wore the usual school uniform consisting of a Seifuku with a plaid skirt.
Personality[]
Typical of most Oni, Kuuki has a very gentle and kind personality. She can be a bit haphazard at times, such as when she was cooking food for herself and her human friend in Chapter 74, since she was making dinner for one using herself as the baseline, causing her to cook far more food than her friend could eat, since a human can't eat as much as an Oni. Despite her kindness, she seems to have a slightly stubborn, manipulative side like Tio, as she told her boyfriend not to "force" himself to eat all the food, thereby subliminally manipulating him into doing just that.
According to her description in Chapter 79, due to the opportunities offered by the Grimoire Public High School, Kuuki developed a great love for cooking. Her dream is to one day open her own restaurant and she is keen to archive that goal by training hard to become a licensed chef.
Skills & Traits[]
Personal Skills[]
- Cooking: As stating in her description in Chapter 79, Kuuki has a strong love for cooking and dreams of opening her own restaurant. As seen in Chapter 74, Kuuki can already cook a wide variety of dishes, which her boyfriend says are really good. According to Kuuki's omake, she also learned how to make low-calorie food after her boyfriend became grossly obese by all the normal food she cooked for him.
Physical Traits[]
- Oni Physiology:
- Intimidation: As a member of the Ogre family, Kuuki's height and strength alone is enough to scare potential attackers away from her, despite her friendly personality.
- Superhuman strength: As an Oni, Kuuki is much stronger than an average human, although still weaker than a standard Ogre.
- Horns: Oni horns are for show, as the horns connect directly to the skull, thus making them quite sensitive to the touch.
History[]
Kuuki was one of the numerous people whose consciousness was absorbed into the magical world of the Grimoire Public High School by Arbatel, although the exact circumstances of how this happened are unknown. Like everyone else, Kuuki was brainwashed by the enchanted school uniform and really believed that she was a student at Grimoire High School. During this time, through the opportunities offered by the school, Kuuki discovered a love for cooking, which led her to develop a future dream of later opening her own restaurant.
Plot[]

Kuuki is happy that her boyfriend eats her homemade food.
Kuuki makes her debut in Chapter 74 where she cooked lunch for herself and her boyfriend during the break. While her boyfriend finds the food really tasty, he reluctantly says it's a lot. Kuuki agrees and, slightly embarrassed, explains that she cooked the meal for one, using herself as the baseline, not considering that a human can't eat as much as an Oni. With a seductive look, Kuuki tells her boyfriend not to "force" himself to finish it, which prompts him to say he can finish it all, much to Kuuki's delight.[1]
Kuuki was safely sent back to the normal world after Arbatel released everyone's absorbed consciousness in Chapter 80. Kuuki may also have been among those who sent a petition to Arbatel, since she developed a relationship with her boyfriend thanks to the Grimoire. According to her omakes, she also learned how to make low-calorie food after her boyfriend became grossly obese by all the normal food she cooked for him.
Zoological Classification[]

Oni are a smaller Ogre subspecies. Aside from their colourful skin ranging from red to blue and two small horns, Oni are genetically no different from standard Ogres. Standing only two meters tall (6'6), they are slightly smaller than Ogres, making them the smallest of the Ogre subspecies, though they are still larger than the average human.
Red Oni are thought to be crybabies and Blue Oni are considered self-sacrificing, but it is unclear whether or not there is any truth to these claims. It is customary for Oni to dress in tiger-striped clothes.
