A Mirror is an object that reflects light, most notably reflecting visible light to create an image oriented opposite from the original.
The first mirrors used by humans were most likely pools of still water. The earliest manufactured mirrors were reflective sheets of metals. pieces of polished stone such as obsidian, a naturally occurring volcanic glass. In the bronze age to the early middle ages, mirrors were made from sheets of metal such as bronze and silver.
While naturally occurring in moist environments, the vast majority of mirrors in the modern day are manufactured by humans, primarily composed of glass and reflective minerals, though plastic is occasionally used in other mirrors. Modern mirrors come in numerous shapes and sizes, though due to the majority of large-scale mirrors using glass, they are very prone to breakage with improper handling.
Although mirrors are used nowadays by users to inspect their appearances and surroundings, concave and convex mirrors are used in funhouses to distort their appearances for their entertainment.

Trivia[]
- A common superstition is breaking a mirror will curse the one who broke it with extreme bad luck.
- One of the many ways humans judge an animal's intelligence and whether if they have a form of self-awareness is through the "mirror test", where the animal passes by recognizing it's own reflection and not seeing it as another member of it's own species. This test has been successfully applied to elephants, apes, some monkeys, as well as to some bird species such as crows.
- An extension of the 'mirror test' conducted with elephants involved painting a white cross on one half of their foreheads. The elephants passed the test because they touching the marking on their forehead with their trunks instead of touching the reflection of the marking in the mirror, which further proves that they recognized themselves in the mirror rather than confusing their reflection with a fellow species member.
- A characteristic that Vampires are said to have in most stories and myths is that they do not have mirror images. However, this does not apply to the vampires in Monster Musume, as Ms Smith stated that it is pure fiction that vampires cannot be seen in mirrors.[1] This is later confirmed in a scene in Chapter 51, where Curie's mirror image can be seen in a mirror in the background. However, the ghost of Curie's father Wladislaus is not visible in the mirror, which suggests that at least ghosts in Monster Musume do not have mirror images.
- After Arbatel made her into one of The Five Mysteries of Grimoire Public High School, Doppel reveled in the opportunity to mess with others, with her story involving scaring people with a bloody-eyed version of their reflection. Mimi was the last victim of this prank before the entire incident came to an end, with the Owl Harpy taking time to recover from the traumatic experience.[2]
