Daily Life With A Monster Girl Wiki
OPF1

Orcs are a species of brutish, aggressive and generally lustful pseudohuman Liminals. Possessing prominent fangs and a snout, their features tend to be "pig-like" in appearance. Taller and thicker than a human by half, they would have about the strength of a bear, and have noses capable of accurate olfactory sense to up to a kilometer out.

Considered to be aggressive scavengers and opportunistic carnivores, they possess human-level intelligence and an even higher level of cunning. Violent by nature, they will fight ferociously if compelled but tend towards more chaotic/destructive behavior such as pillaging, rape and/or cowardice.

General Information[]

Orcs are an aggressive pig-like Liminal species about which there are many negative prejudices, both among Humans and other Liminals and as such they are hated and feared by many. To some extent, these prejudices are very justified, because although there are good Orcs, like Ruka, some of them are serious criminals like the Pioneer Orc Renaissance Kinsmen, who have committed numerous crimes such as murder, terrorism and rapes. In the end, however, these crimes only resulted in their own deportation from Japan.

Despite their bad reputation, Orcs are generally not forbidden to participate in the Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill and many like Ruka also have friendly relationships with humans. Basically it can be said that it is wrong to regard Orcs as completely evil, but unfortunately the actions of the P.O.R.K show that especially with the Orcs who are evil, these negative character traits often take on particularly drastic proportions. However, as shown later in Chapter 84, there are also many Orcs who view the Orc leader with contempt because Orcs like him give their species such a bad name.

Physiological Attributes[]

  • Height: Male orcs stand approximately 5'11" to 6'2", weighing from 180 to 280 lbs. Females average about 6 inches shorter than males. Females also appear more human-like than their male counterparts. Female orcs are also usually plump in general though others, such as Ruka, can become slimmer.
  • Diet: Orcs are usually carnivorous and are often said to be cannibalistic. Other sources state them to be extreme Omnivores and will eat just about anything out of hunger or curiosity, so long as it looks like food.
  • Sense of Smell: Orcs possess an extraordinarily keen sense of smell. The leader of the P.O.R.K. boasted that an Orc can detect the scent of a gun or woman within one kilometre. However, this sense of smell is flawed, for despite the Orc leader's claims, then Orcs could not determine that Tio was a woman, implying that the sense of smell is not strong enough to identify a person's sex through armour or a thick uniform. Also, the P.O.R.K was unable to identify Doppel as a Shapeshifter and Zombina as a Zombie, implying that Orcs may not be as good to recognizing a person's species by smell.
  • Skin: Like humans, Orc skin pigmentations vary depending on environmental factors. Noted pigmentations include green, brown and pink.
  • Superior Level of Strength: Orcs are about as physically strong as bears, which makes it easy for them to break a humanÂŽs spine, as mentioned in Chapter 11. In Chapter 40, the Orc leader managed to overpower Draco with relative ease, which is quite an impressive feat considering that a Dragonewt is stronger than a Lamia. In this example, however, it must be taken into account that Draco was in a very weak mental state at the time and the Orc overwhelmed her with a surprise attack. In general, Orcs are weaker than some larger Liminal species as they cannot take on Ogres or Werewolves in a fight, for example.

Trivia[]

FemOrc
  • 11th Nov 2015, Okayado was inspired by the short comic The Good Orc's Day (いいオヌクの日 iio-kunohi) (by pixiv artist "Jin") to draw a female orc on his twitter. Unfortunately he was too late to submit the artwork and posted it on his Twitter account instead. [1]
  • Orcs are depicted as pig-men in Eastern culture due to the Dungeons & Dragons 1st edition book depicting the orc as having a fundamentally "piggish snout" for a face and showed an image of a monster with a boar's head on a hunch-shouldered, green-skinned chimpanzee body.
  • The Orc girl Ruka has hooves instead of feet, but the male Orcs in Monster Musume wear shoes. This would mean that male Orcs, although their heads are much more animal-like, they have, unlike their female representatives, most likely human-like feet, as they couldn't wear shoes if they also had hooves.
  • Although the leader of the P.O.R.K claims that an Orc could smell any woman within a radius of one kilometre, it can be assumed that this is only a perverse claim, because even wearing armor was enough that the Orcs were not able to recognize that Tio is a woman.
  • Orcs are currently the only Liminal species of which only males have appeared in Monster Musume, as Ruka, the only known female Orc in the franchise, is a character from Monster Musume Online and no other female Orcs have appeared as background characters in the manga series. This could indicate that few Orcs participate in the Cultural Exchange between Species Program.
  • In the official translation of Chapter 84, the Orc Leader mocks the two more peaceful Orc hotel employees, after he knocked them down with ease, as "spineless, detusked cowards". In real life, tusks are a general feature of pigs, since they serve as a defense and give the animal a wilder appearance. From the context of the above situation, "detusked" is therefore probably a serious insult among the pig-like Orcs in Monster Musume, possibly intended specifically for less violent Orcs, since it claims that they are "effeminate" and "weak" compared to the more violent Orcs.
  • Although Ruka's appearance already confirmed from the beginning that at least female Orcs in Monster Musume have pig-like tails, it was not until a scene from Chapter 84 with the two Orc hotel employees that it was shown that male Orcs also possess this feature, since the Orcs that appeared in earlier chapters wore long coats/jackets that covered their lower backs and thus also their pig-like tails.
