Pizza is a flatbread dish of Italian origin but globally popularized around the world, particularly in the west.
The dish is comprised of a flour-based dough, with a minimum of 2 toppings, those being sauce (usually tomato) and cheese (primarily mozzarella). Additional toppings can also be added, such as pepperoni, black olives, onions, and other types of meat. Some pizza variations also switch out the sauce types, while cheese type is also a changeable option.
Pizza is served in various sizes, ranging from as small as a jewelry box to as large as a car tire. The dish is also famous for being served in slices, which are cut in either radial triangular patterns or a square grid.
Although certain restaurants serve pizza as a high quality dish option, pizza in general is most popularized as being an affordable dish that is easily shared with more than one person.
