Species 6: Everyday Life with Shedding and Egg Laying (第6種 脱皮と産卵する日常, Dai-Roku-shu: Dappi to Sanran Suru Nichijō ) is the sixth episode of the Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls anime series.
Publicly released on the 11th August, 2015, the episode was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and scripted by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, with creative input from story creator Okayado. The series was animated and produced by the animation studio Lerche.
Plot[]
While trying to learn to cook, Miia accidentally burns her hands on a hot pot. Attempting to console her, Kimihito learns that she is shedding and can't do so properly with her hands bandaged. He agrees to help her shed. However, while attempting to shed the skin of her loins, he accidentally touches a sensitive spot and she reflexively knocks him unconscious. To apologize, she makes him dinner (which turns out to be inedible due to her not using a cookbook).
Later, when Kimihito comes home from shopping, Papi announces that she is going to lay an egg, causing the other girls to leap to conclusions before being told that it is unfertilized. Kasegi then arrives at the house, claiming to be shooting a documentary on interspecies exchange. While touring the house, he causes various incidents, such as filming Mero when her swimsuit slips, groping Centorea when she says she doesn't wear a bra and taking Miia's shed skin.
Mero then arrives to announce that Papi is about to lay her egg. While Kasegi is filming Kimihito helping Papi, Suu reads his mind, revealing his true intent of selling the egg and the footage. Kimihito distracts him with a store egg that he pretends is Papi's and uses the opportunity to punch him unconscious. Papi then lays her egg; later, Miia accidentally cooks it after Papi stores it in the refrigerator. At the end of the episode, Kasegi is seen berating an Arachne (whom he is exploiting) for building webs everywhere. She then wraps him up in thread and states that she is interested in his story about Kimihito.

Differences from the Manga[]
- In the original manga, only Centorea and Papi felt badly after they had eaten Miia's dinner, since Mero and Suu appeared later in the manga.
- With the exception of Suu, the original chapter does not show what the girls used to beat Kimihito with when they thought that he had sex with Papi. In the episode Centorea beat him with her sword, Miia beat him with a wooden club with nails embedded in it, and Mero beat him with a large spiral shell.
- In the manga Kasegi is shown working with two associates, while in the anime, he works alone.
Trivia[]
- This episode is based on Chapters 7 and 14 of the manga series.
- The Long Legs subspecies' appearance and nickname of "Sergeant" is a reference to 2chan, which refer to huntsman spiders as "Sergeant Ashidaka" due to a particular thread discussing "anti-cockroach forces".
- Suu's premature appearance in this episode results in the inconsistency that she felt badly after eating what Miia cooked, although she is immune to it as Slime. However, due to Suu's happily expression and the fact that there was no "soaring soul" about her head, the situation could also be interpreted as meaning that Suu was not be negatively affected by Miia's food and she instead, as usually, just imitated the other homestay girls.
