Sportswear is clothing primarily meant to be worn during physical activity. Primarily made out of materials such as polyester, Wool, and Cotton, the garments are generally made to be comfortable for the wearer during vigorous exercises such as jogging or weightlifting, as well as ensuring that their mobility and flexibility is as unimpeded as possible without resorting to nudity.

Due to the broad range of physical activities, sportswear as a whole has a large variety, not accounting for the tastes of the wearer.

Shoes[]

The vast majority of sports involve running shoes, which are lightweight, breathable, and are designed with extra grip to provide the wearer with extra surface traction, usually on paved or wooden surfaces. Other shoes include hiking/climbing boots, which have additional traction for tackling rocky terrain, and cleats, which have spikes meant to provide traction on grassy turf.

Sweatsuits[]

Sweatsuits, also known as tracksuits, are modestly thick shirts and pants meant to absorb sweat from the wearer to cool them off. Typically, these are worn during cardio exercises. The shirt component is almost always a zip-up long-sleeved shirt with an optional hood, while the pants are always long pants.

Swimsuits[]

For water-based activities, swimwear consists of briefs (also generically referred to as "speedos" regardless of branding) for men and one-piece swimsuits for women (nicknamed "racerbacks" due to exposing much of the wearer's back). Unlike casual swimwear, competition swimsuits are much more skintight and are designed to eliminate any sources of drag that could slow the wearer down as well as streamlining a swimmer's profile. Additionally, during competitions, swimmers also wear a cap that covers their hair to lessen drag and a pair of goggles to protect their eyes.

Track uniforms[]

Aside from sweatsuits/tracksuits, track and field events have different garments meant to keep the wearer's mobile and agile while preventing them from overheating, with a universal constant being dedicated running shoes.

Men usually wear a tank top and loose shorts. Women have a larger variety, not only having the same as men but also shorter tops that expose the midriff (and occasionally a sports bra depending on a woman's breast size) and short-shorts (shorts with shorter legs that barely reach past the hips) and occasionally bloomers (which are essentially sweatpants shortened as briefs).

Other[]

For generic activities, most men and women tend to wear either tank tops, sweatshirts, or loose t-shirts and shorts or long sweatpants. Women also have the option to wear a sports bra, a light and loose short skirt, leggings, and yoga pants, while men can occasionally be seen shirtless. Occasionally, either gender can be seen sporting a baseball cap, sun visor, or sweatband.
